I think my old horse Sunny deserves to be STEED OF THE WEEK!! I was
given Sunny at the age of 20yrs old thinking he wouldn't last long (he was in a
sad neglected state). Well I think the 15yrs I had with him were the best of his
and my life!! We did a number of shows including the Royal show at the age of
26yrs.(4th at the Royal in a class of 11) & (won Champion Gelding at Swan
View aged 27) We did a 20km social ride at 27yrs. Lots of galloping at the
beach and just enjoyed his later years of life.
Sunny was a dream horse when my kids come along lots of horsey rides,
cuddles and carrots. Sadly 6th March 2007 the day came that every horse
owner hopes never happens, he was found down and unable to get up. After
the vet came I had to make the hardest decision of my life to have my best
mate put to sleep. RIP Sunny  aged 35yrs think of you everyday old horsey. By
the way he was a STANDARDBRED.
