I would like to nominate my boy Saxon for 'Steed of the Week' I got him in December 2004 and he was a little cheeky but he soon became the sook of my stables. He became attached to our miniature pony really quick as well. He had a problem with bucking and not relaxing which he soon overcame with work. I got him up here to the north-west, got shoes and Bowen done on him and then all he did was improve from there on. He started to settle a lot quicker, wouldn't try to buck or pig root, and was going great!! I then starting working on a bit more flatwork incorporating roundness and flexing which he did incredibly well, so then I thought I would try my hand at jumping him and he absolutely LOVED it!!! Now he can jump 2'6 to 3ft with ease and could most likely go higher. He is really good at gymkhana's and has won the open barrels up here a few times and loves it, he likes to HOON and so do I, so we make a great team!! He is so easy to do stuff with, I took him to his first show where he took out almost everything we entered and we aome away with lots of ribbons inc champions or res Champions and my Rider Class. Here are a few pictures of him at his first show, jumping, beach and gymkhana doing flags. And I know Saxon would love knowing that he is the Steed of the Week!! Cheers!
