I would like to nominate my beautiful horse Sam. He is a 17.2hh, 6 year old
thoroughbred. I love him because he is cuddly and loves to be ridden. He is
so well behaved! I'm not usually a fan of thoroughbreds as most i have
seen are nuts , but he isn't! He was never raced so maybe thats why. He
never shys or bolts rears or bucks, he hates his feet being done but he isn't
too naughty. He doesn't mind kangaroos but emus he doesnt like, lol. He
loves to jump, these pictures are taken from his very first show ever, hunter
trials. We were only jumping 65 cm because I had only had him 2 weeks
and he wasn't fit enough but we practice at home at 105cm and some solid
logs out in the bush at 95cm.
He is so gentle but he knows he's big, if he does something wrong and i tell
him off , he puts his head up high and sulks like a big baby. He is so cute
when we do dressage cause he thinks he's little but he looks amazing
cause he is huge. He hates water probably because the first time he had to
go in it was at the beach on a stormy day and the water was rough and
really loud, my bad! But I love him to death!
He has a broken wither, but it doesn't affect him. He also has a turned out
front leg but you cant notice it and he has no give in it, but i don't do a lot of
competing, just a little eventing now and then so it stays good. I love him
and am glad he cares for me and I believe he deserves to be steed of the
week for being my boyfriend (lol, I tell guys sorry i love sam, lol) and my
best friend and for being quiet and cuddly, and for not being put down for
the bad leg and wither. Thank you Horsewest.

By the way, Sparkles, a past steed of the week had to be sold because she
was allergic to flies, the poor girl! But she is now showing with a young boy!
