History/Past Performances: I traced back Bertie's brand to the original owner and they told me his
story. He had a rough start to life. He was bred in South Australia by a man who had a whole heap
different mares running with a thoroughbred stallion. He was breeding them for meat. He was found
out and the horses were re homed. Unfortunately Bertie's dam died when he was only 3 months old.
She was still feeding his one and a half year old sister as well as Bertie and being only a small pony
mare couldn't cope. Bertie was hand raised then sold on. He was previously known as Tortandeen
Tiny Tim as he was so small. He was then known as Tim Tam and somewhere along the line his name
was changed to Bertie. He had quite a few homes. He was at Metropolitan Riding School for a bit
where he broke someones arm by bucking them off when they were doing a round-the-world and ran a
few people under fences. I then leased Bertie off a friend for 2 and a half years before purchasing him.
He now has a home for life. Before I outgrew him we competed successfully in all disciplines including
eventing, showjumping, Prince Phillip Games, hacking, dressage, novelties and pony trots (well not that
successfully, he did win one race, but it was rigged! We had the biggest handicap!)

Likes: Annoying people and getting attention
Dislikes: Being separated, being ridden alone and ants!
Personality/Quirks: Bertie is way too smart for his own good.
Currently: Being a paddock ornament and companion as well as being occasionally ridden by anyone
game enough to get on!
Aims: My aim for Bertie is that he leads a long and happy life, he is a great friend.
